The Foreshore Art Prize The original Foreshore Art Prize, established in 2023, is an annual 'en plein air' art competition held along the foreshore at Beauty Point, Tasmania.

The original Foreshore Art Prize, established in 2023, is an annual 'en plein air' art competition held along the foreshore at Beauty Point, Tasmania, celebrating creativity and the distinctive landscape of the West Tamar. Initially sponsored by The Chefs Catch, the competition was created to encourage artists, celebrate local creativity and capture the distinctive landscape of the West Tamar. As a genuine 'en plein air' competition, artists work outdoors and in situ along the Beauty Point foreshore, creating an original artwork inspired by the scene before them, all within a single day. The competition is open to amateur and professional artists aged over 16, working in any physical medium. The fourth annual Foreshore Art Prize will be held from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturday 5 December 2026. Entries cost $20 and applications close on Saturday 28 November 2026. Sponsorship opportunities are now available for the 2026 competition. We are seeking a major sponsor for the $500 first prize, which includes naming rights to the 2026 Foreshore Art Prize. Sponsorship is also welcomed for the $300 second prize, $200 third prize and $100 People’s Choice Award. By supporting the original Foreshore Art Prize, sponsors help continue a community event that encourages artists and promotes creativity in Beauty Point and throughout the West Tamar.
