🎨 PAINT YOUR OWN COOKIES – CLEARANCE! 🎨

The last few weeks have been a bit chaotic here, and with three markets cancelled over the past few months (including one I had to cancel myself while my little one was in hospital), a few things have unfortunately slipped through the cracks.

As I’m taking stock and planning next week’s baking and shopping lists, I’ve come across 10 Paint Your Own Cookies that need a new home!

Normally $10 each, these are now just $2 each! 😱

A little transparency: these cookies have a best-before date of 19/10/26. Sugar cookies are given a 6-week best-before, but realistically, they can last much longer when stored correctly. They can also be frozen.

They are still suitable to eat, but I won't be keeping these past Sunday, so I'd much rather see them go to someone who can enjoy them! ❤️

Unfortunately, I won’t be at the Lara Market this Sunday. 💔

My little one has been in hospital all week, and with it now being Friday and no clear discharge date, I haven’t been able to do any shopping or preparation for the market.

As much as I hate cancelling, I just can’t commit to being there when we don’t even know if we’ll be home by Sunday.

I’m so sorry to everyone who was looking forward to seeing me and grabbing some gluten-free treats. ❤️

All being well, I’ll be back at the next pop-up on 31/10! 🧁

“How much?”

"Why can’t you just give me a price from the picture?"

Well… there’s a number of reasons. 😂

How big is the cake in the picture?
How many people do you need it to serve?
What flavour is the cake?
What fillings do you want?
When do you need it?

I can’t price a vanilla cake and a chocolate mud cake the same. There’s about 3kg of chocolate difference in ingredient cost alone. 😅

And then there’s the size, servings, design, date and all the other little details that go into working out whether I can actually take your order.

That’s why I ask everyone to fill out my enquiry form.

I don’t provide quotes unless the form has been completed. I need those details so I can make sure I’m giving you an accurate price and that I can actually deliver what you’re asking for.

And yes, I know sometimes you just want to know the price before giving me all your details.

But your email address? That’s where I send your quote.
Your phone number? Honestly, I’ll probably only use it if you miss your pickup window and I need to make sure you’re okay. 😂

Once your enquiry is underway, I’ll generally move communication over to email too. It keeps everything together and makes the business side of things much easier to manage.

Hot tip: 9 times out of 10, you’ll get a quicker response by email than through social media.

I mute my social notifications.

Customer: “How much notice do you need? What’s your turnaround time? Can I place an order for a custom cake 5 days out?”

There are so many answers to that question, but honestly… how long is a piece of string? 😂

The sooner you book, the better.

I have weddings booked for 2028, while other customers reach out 10 days before their event. And sometimes I can make that last minute order work! But that doesn’t mean I’ll always have the space.

Every month has that day. The day that everyone seems to want. 😅

But I’m one person, working with the same 24 hours in a day as everyone else. And while I’m pretty good at fridge Tetris, even my fridge has limits. 😂

It's not just about the physical space or baking time. At some point, I need to plan my life around my bookings too. Maybe there’s an errand day I’ve been putting off, a day out with the family, or simply a day where I need to not be working. That time is important too.

So if you know you want a cake, cupcakes or cookies for an upcoming event - book it in. Get in early and avoid the disappointment of finding out I’m already at capacity.

If I can’t fit you in, it’s not because I don’t like you or I want you to miss out. ❤️

It’s probably just that someone else got in first.

There’s no magic turnaround time - availability always comes down to what’s already booked.
