BYE AUGUST, BYE PIE MONTH! 🥧🌸

What an AMAZING month. Honestly, you guys absolutely blew me away.

Thank you to every single person who bought a pie, whether it was our Pandan Flower Pie or one of our savoury pies. Thank you for lining up, coming back for more, telling your friends and supporting this little business of mine.

And now I’m already thinking… what pie am I going to create for next year?! 👀😂

I have absolutely no idea yet, but knowing me, it’ll be something a little weird, wonderfully unexpected and FUN. 🤣🥧

And because you’ve asked SO MUCH… the Pandan Flower Pie isn’t disappearing just yet! 🌸

I’ll continue making small batches every Saturday for our markets, so grab them early because once they’re gone, they’re gone!

I’m slowly entering my nesting era, stepping back a little and passing the market baton to my wonderful staff while I focus on preparing for our next big adventure.

Flying Chillies isn’t disappearing, you’ll just be seeing a little less of me behind the stall. 😂

Every year we seem to have ONE absolutely brutal Farmers Market day… and apparently today was the day. 😂🥧🌧️

I woke up this morning already feeling like, yep… today is going to test me.

First, some of our beautiful Pandan Flower Pies decided to go for a little slide in the van 😂 They were still perfectly delicious, just cosmetically challenged, so we sold them at a discounted price.

Then there was me making WAY too many pies, running out of time, but also refusing to sacrifice all my sleep.
Then came the weather. 🌧️
Then we realised we forgot our stall wall… because apparently we always have to forget SOMETHING.

And the cherry on top: I ended up running the stall by myself for about 1½ hours while my husband had to deal with something urgent. Of course, THAT was when we had a long queue… in the drizzle. 😂😭

But somehow, amongst all that chaos… WE SOLD OUT. ❤️

You came out in horrible weather, waited patiently, happily took home some of our slightly wonky discounted flower pies, smiled with me and made what could have been a terrible day into a really good one.

And thank you to everyone who went to Salty Sparrow too — you sold them out there as well! 🥹🌸

One thing today reminded me: when everything starts going wrong, stay positive, keep smiling, take a few deep breaths and just communicate. Let people know there might be a wait, do what you can, and keep moving.

Small business isn’t always pretty. Some days it’s awards and beautiful pies. Other days trying not to cry behind the stall. 😂

But today I’m going home exhausted, grateful and very proud.

Honestly thank you from the bottom of my heart, Ballarat. ❤️

Hey gorgeous people…
Life has been a lot lately, in the best and most exhausting way.

In between making pies every single day & somehow, no matter how many I make, you guys STILL sell me out. There have been appointments with midwives, gyno, doctors, physio and everything else that comes with growing a tiny human.

Then I come home and it’s nesting mode… tidying, cleaning, organising, repeat. 🫠

Running a small business while pregnant has been such a reality check. Some days I feel like I can conquer the world, and other days I’m tired, overwhelmed and just need to sit down and remind myself that I’m human too. There’s no big team behind the scenes, just me trying to balance a business I love with this completely new chapter of my life.

And then I walked through the maternity ward at the hospital and saw mums who looked very close to giving birth…

Suddenly I was like… OH S**T, THAT’S ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ME. 😂
Consider me officially shooketh.

It made everything feel very real, very quickly.

But amongst all the chaos, I’m incredibly grateful. Grateful that the pies are loved, grateful that my little girl is growing, and grateful that somehow I’m getting through each crazy week.

Another busy week ahead… but for now, I’m taking everything one day, one pie, one appointment and one increasingly wider version of myself at a time. 😂🥧🤰🏻🤍

20 weeks! 🩵

Can’t believe I’m already halfway through this pregnancy.

I won’t lie, the past few weeks have come with lots of anxiety and even some crazy nightmares. Everyone keeps asking if I can feel her kicking yet, I think so 😂 Some days I honestly don’t even feel pregnant, apart from this belly slowly getting bigger!

Probably why I love keeping myself busy, less time for my brain to overthink everything. 😂

But after today’s morphology scan, seeing our little girl growing beautifully and measuring just as she should was the reassurance I needed.

Halfway there, little one. Keep growing strong. Mum & Dad might be anxious, busy and slightly crazy sometimes, but we already love you more than you know. 🤍
