Another one bites the dust… 🤗
Apologies for the short notice Ballarat!
A combination of circumstances and unexpected opportunities has enabled me close this chapter, that was my world for 3 years. Fredas will no longer be operating…
The financial expense of running a restaurant is enormous, but so too are the emotional, physical and time-consuming pressures that come with it. After almost three years, they are simply no longer something I can sustain.
Freda’s has taken more from me than I ever expected, but it has also given me experiences, friendships and memories I will carry with me forever. I’m incredibly proud of what we created and grateful to everyone who was part of it.
A special thank you must go to my head chef, who worked tirelessly alongside me from the very beginning. His amazing talent, commitment, loyalty and sheer hard work never wavered, and Freda’s could not have existed without him.
To my leading lady on the floor and the person I could call whenever 💩 hit the fan, thank you for loyalty to me and Freda’s!
And, of course, to all our beautiful regulars: thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, the laughs and for choosing Freda’s time and time again. I’m sorry to those I didn’t get the opportunity to say goodbye to personally, but Ballarat is a little ol’ town, and I’m sure we’ll bump into each other again.
Freda’s carried my mum’s name, so it will always be a part of me. Perhaps you’ll see it or me, in some form again one day.
Never say never.
But for now, I’m going to reclaim my time, be with my family and start living my best life… possibly after sleeping for a week.
