Ballarat's chill is here, and we've got the perfect reason to warm up.

Enjoy a handcrafted marshmallow by Grounded Pleasures, exclusively available at The B Town Eatery with every beverage. Made locally in Ballarat, each marshmallow adds a touch of sweetness and comfort to every sip.

Because great coffee deserves a little something extra.

"Very satisfying experience at The B Town Eatery."

Those words mean everything to a small café like ours.

From serving food piping hot, to using fresh ingredients, to creating flavours that bring dishes like our Shroom Boom Benny and B Town's Heart to life, every detail matters. But what makes us happiest is knowing our guests can taste the care behind it all.

Friendly service, great food, good coffee, and a place to slow down for a moment—that's what we're all about.

Thank you, Jerry W, for sharing your experience and becoming part of our story. ☕🤎

These walls heard first dates before smartphones existed.

Before DMs.
Before dating apps.
Before people looked down at screens instead of across the table.

At 12 Sturt Street, conversations happened face to face.
Milkshakes were shared.
Coffee stayed hot while stories got longer.

Since 1941, this place has seen generations meet, celebrate, reconnect and belong.

Today, Chef Kay continues that same spirit at The B Town Eatery
keeping community at the centre of every table, every coffee, every conversation.

Some buildings get older.
Some become part of people’s lives.

This is one of them.

Before Ballarat had café culture, there was Conder’s.

In 1941, Jack Conder opened a small milk bar on Sturt Street.
Candies in jars. Banana splits after the movies. Newspapers on the counter. Conversations in every booth.

Then came something Ballarat had never seen before:
the city’s first espresso machine.

Long before coffee became culture, Conder’s was already pouring it.

Decades later, the address still matters.

Today, Chef Kay continues that story at The B Town Eatery built on the same spirit that made Conder’s a meeting place for generations:
community, conversation, warmth, and good coffee.

Some places serve food.
Some become part of a city.

12 Sturt Street has been doing both since 1941.

Some families in our community are fighting battles we can’t always see.

A hospital visit instead of a normal morning.
A hard conversation instead of breakfast together.
A little more worry. A little less certainty.

This May, we’re coming together at The B Town Eatery to support Australians affected by cancer through Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

If you can, come share a cuppa, a conversation, or simply your support. 🤍

Every cup.
Every chat.
Every dollar.
Helps.
