Let's take a bite-sized journey through nugget history because, trust us, it’s egg-citing! 👀🍳

A WAR-ERA CHICKEN DILEMMA 🍗💣

In World War II, chicken became America’s go-to meat after beef shortages hit. But when the war ended, chicken lost its cluck… It was too big for one person, too small for a family, and too much work to prepare for the growing number of working women. The world needed a more convenient solution—enter Robert C. Baker, the man who would soon be known as the George Washington Carver of chicken! 🐔👨‍🔬

NUGGET INVENTION: A SCIENTIFIC FEAT 🧪

In 1963, Baker, a researcher at Cornell University, created what we now know as the chicken nugget—bite-sized pieces of boneless, breaded chicken that could be easily fried and frozen. 📜 The Not-So-Secret Origin Story of the Chicken Parma! 🍗
Alright, gather ‘round for a juicy tale about everyone’s favourite classic—the legendary Chicken Parmigiana! 🎵🥁

First things first: Note that the Chicken Parmigiana is named after the king of cheeses, Parmesan?! 🧀👑 That's right, folks, the Chicken Parmigiana pays homage to that divine, crumbly cheese from Parma, Italy. So, let’s keep it classy and call it by its rightful name—Parma!
But how did this "hot mess" of flavours make its way into our hearts, homes, and, most importantly, our bellies? Grab your fork, and let’s dig in! 🍴

A TALE AS OLD AS... THE 1900S? 🕰️

The original "parmigiana" hails from Italy's southern regions—imagine fried eggplant with tomato, cheese, and basil. Simple, elegant, and downright delicious. But somewhere in the 1900s, our beloved dish took an international detour as Italians migrated to America and beyond, with a chicken version popping up in Maryland in 1944 (alongside spaghetti… but let’s not even go there 😅).
Meanwhile, over in Argentina, a late-night kitchen mishap at a restaurant called Napoli gave birth to the “Milanese a la Napoli”—a breaded beef dish topped with ham, tomato, and cheese. Did they invent the parma? Who knows! But one thing’s certain: it made its way through their kitchen before landing on our plates.

THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN "PARMA" BOOM! 🇦🇺

Here in Australia, the story gets even tastier. The first mention of a chicken parmigiana on our shores was in a 1953 Adelaide newspaper.
