Just to update all customers re the shop closures due to medical treatments. These have come to an end because the treatment wasn't working.

We are now focusing on palliative care and end of life. Whilst every chance to avoid shop closures will be made, these cannot be guaranteed. We will try and keep it minimal.

To all those who have been an awesome moral support. Thank you. It has been very hard.

Reminder Avenel Cafe will be closed tomorrow just for the morning session from 10:30 to 2pm. We will be open at 4:30pm as normal.

We will be open from 9:30 to 2pm for 10c recycling. We will also be doing lunch orders. All you need to do is call the shop number 0435 173 752 and Tina will work with you to organise it. Thanks for your understanding.

Urgent medical appointment

Chemo hasn't been working so we be meeting with the head oncologist to discuss options. This will occur on Wednesday 24th June and as a result we will need to close the shop between 10:30 to 14:00. We will be open for lunch orders, milk sales and 10c Deposit Scheme business. Please call the shop and Tina will assist you.

Urgent medical appointment

The next session of chemo will be on the 11 June 2026. As a result the normal Cafe operations will be closed on this day. We will however be available for lunch orders, 10c recycling and milk sales. Just call the shop number and Tina will organise it for you.

10c Deposit Scheme update

Just a quick update to advise we are almost full. This means we have limited space but can take small amount. We will take these tomorrow as part of our open.

Our bins are emptied Tuesday so we will be ready again on Wednesday. Thank you for your support.

Last week's urgent medical appointment was delayed until next week. As a result, Avenel Cafe will be closed for normal operations on Thursday.

We will be doing something different. If you have 10c recycling or lunch orders we will be open on call. Please call the shop as normal to organise and Tina will be able to assist.

Avenel Primary School Gr 5/6 are raising money for energy break through. They will be running a drive for containers to ...

Avenel Primary School Gr 5/6 are raising money for energy break through. They will be running a drive for containers to help with fund-raising. Each kid will be asked to bring 10 containers to school per week over each term this will raise over $2000 over 2 terms.

We want all community members to feel like they have assist. If you have containers and want to donate them bring them down, we will count them and use the Visy Fund-raising Partner code to donate the money to the school.

Avenel Cafe is a proud partner in this fund raising drive. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
