Sitting at dinner on a remote Gulf Cattle property, the owner, pointing to a bedroom, relived the night they woke to a young screaming child. When they entered the room they were horrified to see an extremely large Olive Python had hold of the child! Other family members told me it was a long time ago and the story made headlines around the world at the time. Recently they had removed 8 Olives in the last month around the homestead.
For a couple of days there was some earthworks going on around the house and one afternoon I got a call to the area. I was pointed to a slasher as an excavator started walking to the slasher on the ground. The excavator picked up the corner of the slasher. Underneath was a breeding ball of Olives! 2 males and a bigger female. Being by myself It was hard to deal with all 3 so one male got away under an adjacent building. With a little help I was able to catch the other 2. I was stoked to have this encounter but even moreso to get them out of potential harms way. Especially as they were not too popular around there as a result of the history. The big girl was exceptionally beautiful both in looks and nature. The general consensus was she was approximately 3.5m in length. Stretched out and stepped out and measured as best we could. She weighed 11.2kg. Released quite a distance from the homestead and from the feel of her the next generation of big Gulf Olives is on its way!

Two very different Axanthics. A very white silver, white chinned axanthic with a completely white belly and a very high black axanthic with a heavy chequered belly with a couple of white patches. Hopefully both going into the mix this season!
