My sister asked the other day why I usually make the coffee before charging the customer. What if they can't pay ?
Well that's partly why we have the pay it forward board. Because sometimes things happen; you forget you gave your kid that last $20 note, your card declines unexpectedly or worse, isn't where it should be. In that second of panic I'd rather not deprive you of your coffee. It's nice to know that someone in the community was generous enough to cover your drink for a day where money is tight or somethings gone a little wrong.
Yesterday our board covered a man who's card wasn't where it should have been. I told him it was all good; that's why we have the board. He looked so relieved and said he always finds it hard to accept help like that.
Today a woman took the time to explain the board to her young kids. Then later another woman was inspired by the board to pay for a coffee for the next woman who then paid it forward for someone else βΊοΈ
I think we all just want to be able to take care of ourselves, but somedays we need a hand. I know a cup of coffee is such a small thing but sometimes it feels bigger. So thankyou to all the wonderful people who have contributed to our Pay it Forward Board β€οΈ
