Gentle reminder orders close 12pm tomorrow (Friday) 🥰❤️

Whoa!!! What a weekend 🙌 very grateful for your orders and hugs and “oh-my-gosh-that was delicious” messages welcoming KQC back 🥰 I’m officially on mid-year uni break (can you believe I was early second year when I started this gig and now I’m almost a fully grown radiographer?!?! Just 12 more weeks of placement… in the meantime, let’s eat:

CONGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 🤤🤤🤤

If I’m being honest, I (disappontingly) overlooked it for 37.5 years, but I should have known better. It is SO. GOOD. The rice cooks down into a creamy, rich and comforting congee.

Home-made chicken broth, Jasmine rice, shao hsing wine, garlic and soy sauce.

I’ll be topping it with free-range slow-poached chicken, julienned fresh ginger, spring onions, dark and light soy, coriander, toasted sesame oil and Chiu Chow Chilli Oil (this is my favourite Chinese condiment, it’s ridiculously tasty 😋).

I think I ate this meal exclusively for about 2 weeks straight after I first discovered it 😆

…Anyway! I’ll be cooking up again this weekend and it will be available for pick up from the fridge between 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.

$20/1L; $36/2L; $54/3L; $72/4L

Okie dokie, I think we can say winter is here, so let’s do this! 🙌 Yep, this weekend I’ll be serving up KHAO SOI CURRY NOODLE SOUP!!! …if you missed it last year, think love child of Laksa and Thai Red Curry ✨💫😍

Free range chicken, garlic, ginger, galangal, lemongrass, turmeric, coriander, cumin, Thai curry powder, white pepper, de-seeded dried chillies (so not super spicy!), homemade stock, coconut milk, fresh Chinese egg noodles…. And that’s just the basics…
Topped with coriander, lime juice, fresh shallots, crispy noodles (packed separately) nam prik pao (Thai sweet/chilli sauce) and pickled mustard greens, this is yet another 25+ ingredient soup that I’m so excited to share with you!

Really testing my time management skills here, but you are guaranteed that I roast and grind the spices for the curry powder, chop and blend the spice paste ingredients AND make the nam prik pao myself, to make sure the freshest flavours (and least additives) end up in your bowl!!!

Mild 🌶️ / GF rice noodle OPTION / DF / nut free / MSG free

Hey Soup Fam 🥰 Hypothetically*….. If I was to do 5 soup weekends this winter, what would you request? 😉

Laksa? Cream of chicken and veg? Pho? Khao Soi? Tom Kha G*i? My notes tell me these have been the most popular, but very open to suggestions!

*I miss cooking big scale! I miss the excitement of our weekly club 🤗 It’s so fun, it’s creative and it connects me with our community 🙌

Here it is. The post I’ve been putting off…

It’s time to announce that I’m closing KQC as I’ve recently taken up a position with Jones Radiology. With only one year to go of my Medical Imaging degree, this is such an exciting career opportunity. But, something has to give for me to be able to commit to it! Either that, or invent a way to produce 25-hour-days or 8-day-weeks 😆

I have absolutely LOVED cooking for you over the last year and a bit while making new connections within our Barossa community. All the warm fuzzies produced by many wonderful conversations 🥰❤️

Thank you to everyone who interacted with my posts, recommended my business, gave words of encouragement, purchased once, several or many times over, or gifted soup to loved ones recovering from illness, welcoming a new baby or “just because”.

I appreciate you all, and will miss it!

Golly, ultimate antidote for exam-period stress levels? Daydreaming about this soup we used to make all the time when Daniel was teeny tiny. Anyone else start looking back over photos of their kids as babies and get distracted by the food photos in the albums?! 🤣

This weekend will be Char Siu Pork and Ramen Noodle Soup. The kitchen will smell AMAZING when the pork is roasting away, smothered in home-made FROM SCRATCH marinade, then served in a clear-but-dang-tasty broth, ramen noods, Chinese greens and my familiar flavour besties: garlic, ginger, soy, shao hsing, spring onion, floating in the background.

Mild 🌶️/ GF option/ DF / nut free / MSG free

Well well well… guess who couldn’t bring herself to take a soup break this week after all?!?! I honestly LOVE doing what I do, and when I came across this one, I decided it couldn’t wait a fortnight 🤗❤️

You all got sooooooo crazy excited the first time I did pho- but BUN BO HUE is a lesser-known Vietnamese soup that bloody deserves equal fame. Braised beef AND pork?!?! HOMEMADE beef and lemongrass stock?!?! AND rice noodles?! AND ALLLLL the fresh herbs+lime?! AND “SATE”?!?!?!

Soup fam, I didn’t even know about SATE. But it’s incredible. LEMONGRASS, SHALLOTS, GARLIC, CHILLIES, SUGAR, FISH SAUCE…. Simmered with oil and served in a separate tub for you to add to your liking. It’s going to become a staple in KQC HQ.

Mild option 🌶️/ GF / DF / nut free / MSG free
