CDU spent the morning at St Philip’s College chatting with Year 10 and 11 students about the different pathways into university and the wide range of study options available through Charles Darwin University across our campuses.

🔬✨ What a fantastic Science Week! ✨🔬

It was wonderful to welcome students, schools, teachers, families and community members who came along last week to explore how science is all around us and plays an important part in our everyday lives. From water and soil testing to heat monitoring, antimicrobial resistance, the environment, clean water challenges and UV germ identification, there was plenty to discover, experiment with and get curious about! 🧪🌱💧🔬

A very special thank you to everyone who helped make this Science Week event possible!
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful guest speakers, Mayor Asta Hill and Jimmy Cocking from Desert Knowledge Australia, for taking the time out of their busy days to come and speak with our primary school students.
Your stories, knowledge and passion helped inspire young minds and encourage our students to think about their future and the important role science plays in our community. 🌱🔬

🌏 Welcoming the 2026 Indigenous Youth Native Nations Exchange to Mparntwe/Alice Springs! 🌏

Yesterday, CDU Associate Vice-Chancellor Jodie Summers helped welcome the 2026 Indigenous Youth Native Nations Exchange to Mparntwe/Alice Springs along side Central Arrernte Elder Benedict Stevens, marking a special beginning to their time together on Country.

The exchange is a practical pathway-building initiative connecting young First Nations people with Indigenous tourism leaders, education providers and real-world tourism experiences.

A local group of young people have already spent 10 days in Aotearoa/New Zealand and have now welcomed Māori rangatahi to Mparntwe. Together, they will discover, connect and build meaningful pathways for their futures through culture, Country, tourism and shared experiences.

CDU is proud to be a sponsor of this important initiative, and we can’t wait to hear more about their experiences and see our young First Nations and Māori young people walking on Country together, sharing knowledge, culture and stories.

Recently, students from the CDU Information Technology program visited the Imparja Studios for an intensive workplace experience focused on developing practical media production skills.🎥

Working alongside the Imparja crew, students gained valuable hands-on experience with professional camera equipment while building their confidence in digital storytelling. The intensive provided an insight into the broadcasting industry and helped students strengthen the practical skills needed for future careers in media and technology.
