🎳 Alice Springs bowlers selected for the NT!

A big congratulations to Pat Coburn and Josh van Haaren, who have been selected to represent the Northern Territory at the Bowls Australia National Championships in Perth this October.

Both Pat and Josh have enjoyed a strong year on the greens, including impressive performances at the Darwin Carnival, Australian Open and Alice Springs Festival of Bowls.

They will compete in the Open Men’s competition at Mount Lawley Bowling Club on 22 October.

This is a fantastic achievement, and we wish Pat, Josh and the entire NT team the very best at the national titles!

On Friday, the Alice Springs Golf Club had the pleasure of welcoming Allister and Rebecca Ashmead from Elderton & Small Victories Wines to the Red Centre for a very special Long Lunch.

The event was 18 months in the making and attracted a sold-out crowd, highlighting the opportunities our Club has to host unique food, wine and hospitality experiences in Alice Springs.

Guests enjoyed an Argentinian-inspired menu prepared by Manuel Donamaria and our local Golf Club team, featuring Choripán, Wagyu Picanha, BBQ skirt steak and Dulce de Leche.

Throughout the afternoon, Allister guided guests through the selected wines while sharing stories from the history of Elderton Wines, including the wonderful story behind Ode to Lorraine, created in honour of his mother Lorraine's 60th birthday.

It was Allister and Bec’s first visit to the Red Centre, and we hope it will be the first of many.

A big thank you to everyone involved in bringing the event together and to our guests who filled the room and supported the day.

Events like these showcase another side of the Alice Springs Golf Club – more than just golf, we’re a place for great food, events, connections and experiences in the heart of Central Australia.
