With 25+ years of experience at sea, Faraday is passionate about sharing her knowledge and mentoring young women looking to find their place in the industry.

A big congratulations to Joshua King on an impressive result at the ILCA 6 World Championship!

Joshua finished 86th out of 307 sailors, placing 9th in the Silver Fleet. It was a particularly challenging regatta, with highly shifty conditions and long days on the water.

A fantastic achievement and a great result for one of our WSC sailors. Well done, Joshua!

Youth Week is coming and we want our sailors there ⛵

Registrations for the 2026 Zhik Youth Sail Queensland close this Monday, so if you’re heading to Yeppoon, now’s the time to get registered!

The week kicks off with a three-day coaching clinic (21–23 Sept) with some of Queensland’s top coaches, followed by the
Queensland Youth Championships (24–26 Sept).

Open to all Australian Sailing junior and youth classes, including a Green Fleet division sailing in the sheltered waters of Causeway Lake.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Whitsunday Sailing Club has been named a finalist for Club of the Year – Category A at the 2026 Queensland Sailing Awards! ⛵️✨

To be recognised alongside some of Queensland’s fantastic sailing clubs is a huge honour. This recognition belongs to our incredible members, volunteers, staff and sailing community who make WSC what it is. 💙

Now we wait to find out who takes home the trophy on 11 September… 🤞🏆

Our friends from Townsville Yacht Club are hosting the TYC GaLS Regatta on the 4–6 September, a weekend built around racing, learning, challenging yourself and connecting with other women who love being on the water.

We’re looking for an old but still “sail-able” Laser that someone in our community may be willing to donate to the Sailing Club.
It doesn’t need to be perfect, we’re happy to give a well-loved boat a little TLC and get it back out on the water for our sailing community.
