The Aireys Pub has been an icon of the Great Ocean Road since 1904. It closed in 2011, but was wrestled away from developers and back in to the hands of people who give a damn. A huge beer garden, great food, live music, friendly staff and a brewery !! We can cater for minor celebrations and major events, weddings, parties and anything in between.

The Aireys Pub has been a landmark of Aireys Inlet since 1904, making it one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in the Great Ocean Road region. Built nearly two decades before the Great Ocean Road itself was completed, it has long been at the heart of the local community.

In February 1983, the Ash Wednesday bushfires swept through Aireys Inlet, destroying much of the township, including the hotel. Despite the devastation, the community rallied together, and within days a temporary bar was operating from the remains of the property. The pub became a place for firefighters, volunteers and residents to reconnect, rebuild and support one another during one of the town’s most challenging chapters.

Then, in 2011, the pub closed and the property was put up for sale, with the possibility of redevelopment. A group of local mates pooled their resources to buy the pub. Since then, Phil and Tim have continued to build on the pub’s rich history, ensuring it remains at the heart of the Aireys Inlet community. Their vision has always been to preserve its heritage while creating a welcoming venue that reflects the character of Aireys Inlet.

Today, more than 120 years after first opening its doors, the Aireys Pub continues to honour its past. While the building has evolved over the decades, its purpose has remained the same: a gathering place for locals, visitors and generations of families to enjoy good food, local beer, live music and the unique spirit of the Surf Coast.
