The wedding dessert I dreamed of...
Wasn’t at my own wedding.

24 years ago, I dreamed of a vibrant wedding filled with family and friends… and a dessert experience that would make my guests pause and say, “Wow.”
I’d seen beautiful weddings in magazines with elegant details and grand wedding cakes. But ours was a humble celebration with a simple vanilla cake that everyone ate... and quickly forgot.
I remember wishing I could create something more memorable for the people I loved.

At the time, we simply couldn’t afford to create the experience I had imagined.
But that dream never really left me.
I wanted every couple to have the chance to create those little moments of surprise, joy, and connection for their guests.

Years later, after catering so many weddings with Sassi Ice Cream, I’ve watched guests light up over flavours they’d never tasted before.
They gather around the SASSI’s ice cream cart, smile, share stories, and come back for seconds.
That’s when I realised...

I didn’t create SASSI because I wanted to sell ice cream!

I created it because I wanted people to feel what I grew up feeling around food… warmth, generosity, celebration, and connection.

I’ve always believed dessert could be so much more than something sweet at the end of a meal.
My dream was to create something that would stop people in their tracks, spark conversations, and bring back memories they didn’t expect.

As a dietitian, I know ingredients matter.
As someone who grew up in Saudi Arabia, I know stories matter.

So became a blend of both: thoughtful ingredients, meaningful flavours, and experiences inspired by culture, nostalgia, and hospitality.

I still remember that day standing in the supermarket aisle, staring into the freezer full of ice cream.
There were so many options, but somehow they all felt the same.
I kept thinking about the flavours I grew up with in Saudi Arabia. The flavours tied to family gatherings, celebrations, hospitality, and home.

And I remember feeling disappointed that I couldn’t find those memories anywhere.
That was the moment something shifted.

I stopped wishing those flavours existed and started imagining what it would look like to create them myself.
Not just as ice cream, but as stories people could taste.

Years later in 2019, that idea became .
And every time someone tells us a flavour reminded them of their childhood, their homeland, or someone they love... I know that moment in front of the freezer changed everything ✨

A great dessert isn't just about sweetness.

As a dietitian, I've always been fascinated by how food can affect the way we feel.

Growing up in Saudi Arabia, I watched ingredients like dates, pomegranates, rose petals, and pistachios were never just ingredients.
They weren't just flavours. They brought comfort, warmth, connection, and joy to the table.
They were part of our celebrations, our hospitality, and our traditions. We saw them as blessings to be appreciated; ingredients to be shared generously with family, friends, and guests.

We’ve had so many guests with Greek background try SASSI’s Mastic Ice Cream and instantly light up.
