It’s been a wild few weeks, and I want to share a lesson that’s really settled in my heart.
It’s the importance of finding comfort in your own persistence—in your relative ability to be who you are, regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in.
This mindset has allowed me to learn and grow, even in moments of pain and difficulty, when I felt furthest from myself.
I can tell you, it’s easy to lose your sense of self when you’re stuck in a hospital bed, unable to walk. There were days when I felt like a shadow of who I once was, wondering what remained if I couldn’t do the things that once made me feel whole.
In those moments, I felt completely vulnerable, unsure if or when I’d regain my strength. But in that space, by choosing to be present with intention and purpose, I began to uncover a deeper resilience within myself.
Presence is the key to persistence. It’s in the unknown seasons where persistence shows us who we truly are. And in our refusal to falter, we find our reason to live.
I’ve come to realise that persistence is the quiet strength that keeps us going, even when we feel lost. It’s the realisation that we are the full cup, overflowing, no matter how empty we may feel at times.
