Hi everyone,
We are looking for a skilled, experienced and motivated café Barista to join our team.

You will have proven experience in both back and front of house, ensuring efficient café operation, as well as maintaining high production, quality, productivity and customer-service standards.

The ideal candidate: a positive and enthusiastic person who loves preparing great food and interacting with customers.

Experience as a barista skilled at handling an espresso machine, passionate about quality coffee and adept at multi-tasking is essential. Our ideal candidate will not only bring their coffee-making skills and passion, but also their personality and customer service excellence to this role.

Utilising locally-sourced seasonal produce you will work with management to create a progressive and high-impact menu of healthy food. Knowledge of the food retailing industry along with a strong understanding of food safety legislation and associated processes and procedures is paramount.

You will liaise regularly with management and operate almost autonomously, while being able to steer and influence the creative direction of the business in line with that of the business concept.

This role offers weekday and weekend business hours work only, which will afford you a great lifestyle and balance.

You will be required to:

Be highly efficient with great time organisational skills in a diverse, fast-paced environment
Prepare/assemble food
Prepare/serve coffee, tea and juice
Communicate effectively and efficiently
Work efficiently and with minimal supervision
Adapt quickly and positively to changes in pace
Be organised and attentive to detail
Present a professional and composed manner
Understand food costs, profit and wastage margins
Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have:

At least 2-3 years' in a café environment with both front of house and back of house experience
Knowledge and understanding of modern Australian lunch culture
A desire to prepare creative, healthy and interesting food
Experience ordering stock, food preparation and service
Experience with high volumes of coffee
A strong desire to develop professionally
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
Awareness of food hygiene standards
Reliable and punctual
