Today we remember David, beloved chef of Singapore Delights.

David was born in Singapore and migrated to Australia in the 70’s. He spent most of his life feeding others and found joy in seeing his customers full and happy.

Those who met him know he loved a chat and making new friends. It was his love of people that kept him working till the age of 72.

Late last year, David was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Shortly after his 72nd birthday, he passed away, surrounded by his family. We miss him everyday and one year on it is still difficult to process.

May the memories of David and Singapore Delights continue in all of you, his beloved customers and friends. 🇸🇬🇦🇺

To our dearest customers,

It has been our privilege to serve all of you for the past 30+ years. Many of you loyally followed us from the Central Market location where we were based for 20+ years and for that we are forever grateful. We’ve seen children grow up, start their own families and then bring multiple generations to our store for a comforting meal.

Unfortunately due to unforeseen health issues we are no longer able to continue Singapore Delights.

We wish you all good health and prosperity in the future. Our parting words of wisdom are that time is precious, spend it doing what you love and with those that mean the most to you.

Please tell us your favourite dish and send us your precious memories, photos and stories of Singapore Delights so that we may share them with Chef David and Lian.
