On the 9th of February, 1980, Ron and Julie Green exchanged their vows at The Church on The Hill, surrounded by 80 to 90 family and friends on what Julie remembers as a very windy day. Their ceremony was officiated by Reverend Peter Bourne.

We are incredibly grateful that Julie has chosen to share these precious photos with us.

Stories like Julie and Ron's remind us that The Church on The Hill is more than a heritage building. It has been the setting for countless moments of love, family, and new beginnings, memories that continue to live on long after the day itself.

Built in 1850, The Church on The Hill has witnessed some of Australia's most significant moments in history.

When this church was first opened, the first ANZAC Day was still decades away. Australia had not yet welcomed its first royal visit, and women were still fighting for the right to vote.

It's a remarkable reminder of just how much history this church has quietly stood through—and why preserving it for future generations is so important.
