The Flying Chaff began in 2014, when three friends hired a small coffee roaster for a bit of fun. What started as a laugh…… ended with coffee chaff flying through the air in the kitchen. Things escalated and a year later we purchased a non functioning commercial roaster. We stripped the roaster lovingly named Golden Boy right back to a bare shell and completely rebuilt it with new and improved mot

ors, controls and gas train. Golden Boy was finally certified & commissioned at the end of 2020. Since then we have worked hard on improving each roast trying to achieve a premium result. A highlight in our journey was winning the 2023 Champion Espresso trophy in the Royal Adelaide Coffee Show and then supplying coffee beans to Government House. Our favourite thing about his delicious journey is the relationships we've built... and ofcoarse drinking far too much coffee!!
