Alice’s Kitchen is a modern Korean dine-in restaurant in Oaklands Park, specialising in fried dishes, stir-fries, hot pots, and shareable plates for families and friends.

We are looking for a strong Head Chef to lead our kitchen — not just someone who can cook, but someone who can manage the kitchen, design menus, and work closely with the owner to build a complete and sustainable kitchen system.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who wants more than a standard kitchen job. Our restaurant is in a rebuilding and refining stage, and we are looking for a chef who can help shape the menu, improve workflow, strengthen the team, and create a kitchen that can run smoothly and consistently long term.

About the role
You will play an important role in both the daily operation and future direction of the kitchen. This position suits someone who is confident in hands-on cooking, kitchen leadership, and system building.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the kitchen
- Lead service and maintain a smooth, efficient workflow
- Design and improve prep systems and kitchen organisation
- Work with the owner to develop and refine menu items
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Train, supervise, and support kitchen staff
- Oversee food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste management
- Help build a kitchen system that is efficient, stable, and suitable for long-term growth

About you
- Proven hands-on kitchen experience
- Experience leading a kitchen or supervising a team
- Strong understanding of prep planning, service pacing, and kitchen workflow
- Able to contribute to menu development and dish improvement
- Organised, reliable, and able to perform under pressure
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Looking for a stable, long-term role where you can make a real impact
- Experience in Korean cuisine or Asian cuisine is highly regarded

• Food quality and presentation
• Prep systems
• Hygiene and food safety
• Lead and train kitchen staff
• Run the line during peak dinner service
• Work closely with the owner to refine menu structure and dish logic
• Gradually transform the kitchen from “experience-driven” to “system-driven”
