Hello everyone! I have some very exciting yet sad news to share. Starting this spring, I will be joining with Gut Feeling to offer take-away coffee at their Port Elliot location. This is a very exciting opportunity, but this does mean Ressies Cafe in Myponga can no longer continue to operate. Unfortunately, I will be closing the caravan from the 30th of June onwards to pursue this new avenue.
A lot has happened in the nearly four years since opening my own cafe at 19 years old. I have learned many valuable lessons and I am immensely proud to have achieved what I have. It has come with many trials and tribulations, but it has always been worth it. I have gained so many happy memories and hilarious stories. Like the amount of times where I would get ready to open and a trampoline had blown onto the roof during a storm. Or the times where it would be raining sideways and we would have customers lining up outside ready for coffee (I must be doing something right!). Something we have loved in particular is having Mums accent spark long conversations about customers connections to Scotland.
But by far, one of the best things about this experience has been… you! All the customers and the regulars. Whether you’re from 30 seconds down the street or all the way from Mount Gambier. It’s been such a fulfilling experience getting to know and connect with all of you, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to do so. I’ve appreciated every compliment, every deep and meaningful chat, every milestone reached, and every listening ear to my complaints when the boiler exploded (twice!). We have lived in Myponga for 25 years but may have never had the opportunity to know most of you without starting Ressies Cafe.
If you are ever in Port Elliot, please visit Gut Feeling as I will miss seeing my regulars too much! Once again, Ressies Cafe is closing in a week on the 30th of June so please pop in if you can! I am very excited for this journey to begin this spring, I hope to see you there and thank you for all of this amazing journey.
