THE SHEF‘S EDITION VOL. 1 ❤️‍🔥

Still feeling incredibly happy, inspired and proud after these past few days.

Having so many wonderful and inspiring women here with us at Rote Wand was something truly special. We cooked, ate, drank, talked, laughed, shared and learned from one another. The energy throughout the whole weekend was simply incredible.

This is exactly what The Shef’s Edition was about for us. Bringing together women who are shaping international gastronomy and creating a space for exchange, curiosity and connection.

Because we still see too many food festivals that don’t reflect how diverse our industry really is. We wanted to make a small contribution to changing that.

ROTE WAND DIALOGUES 2.0

A lot has been happening at Rote Wand over the past few weeks. So let’s start with a look back at Rote Wand Dialoge 2.0.

A few days dedicated to exchange, new perspectives and conversations without a fixed format. Bringing together people from art, design, architecture, journalism and beyond, to share ideas, question, listen and think further.

No fixed format, no big stages. Instead: conversations, shared walks, long meals and all those moments in between. Open, direct and always evolving.

A big thank you to all our wonderful speakers for joining us, sharing their thoughts and making these days what they were. And to Nicolaus Schafhausen for curating and guiding us through another edition of the Rote Wand Dialoge.

And then there was fire.

A very special thank you to Sebastián Jmnz of Ræst in the Faroe Islands for joining us and cooking an incredible Fire Kitchen, bringing a little taste of the North Atlantic to the mountains of Zug.

And thank you NEIT for keeping the drinks flowing. We mixed some pretty good ones with it.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE .ist

Like every summer, our dear friend Sandra Holzer spends at least one week with us at the Zuger Säge, working with clay, experimenting, shaping and creating.

Many of the plates and bowls you’ll find throughout Rote Wand are made by Sandra. Her work explores the possibilities and limits of clay and porcelain, with a special focus on texture, touch and form.

Precise, experimental and beautifully timeless. We love having you here, Sandra. 🤍

A solar eclipse from the mountain peak, shooting stars, rainbows, great food, beautiful wines and even better company. And our Artists in Residence added their own kind of magic: a reading with Eva Biringer and art at Zuger Säge by Roland Adlassnigg.
