Dear porteños, with heavy heart we announce, on the eve of our three year anniversary, the closing of our home in Albania.

Our last days are Friday 26 & Saturday 27. Come to enjoy one more cup of coffee, one last alfajor, but make sure you come and hug us goodbye.

Until end of February we will continue to take online orders for selected sweets.

We had a blast, but sometimes new possibilities and new beginnings happen.

Fear not, you haven’t seen the last of us yet.

By one of our porteños today (to read this melts one’s heart):

“Several years ago at a community theater conference, I learned about the concept of a “third home” - a place that is not where you work or where you sleep in which you feel safe, joyful, and part of a community. I search out that place wherever I live. It was HCLT in Virginia. It was GB Tango Academy in Trieste.

I have definitely found that place for me in Tirana.

This is a particularly special day because an Argentinian maestra is in Tirana for a short time with Argentinian friends surrounding her, and several of us are taking advantage of her pure generosity and passion for this tango that so many of us love. So, I savor this moment of a porteña (woman from Buenos Aires) watching a football match on her phone in one corner of the cafe, a porteña teaching a private lesson in the middle of the floor, and my porteña friend knitting a hat between times behind the bar. The soft sounds of guitar wafting through the maestra’s portable speaker and the fragrances of my rose-apple tea and chocolate brownie melt away the chilly-rainy day outside and lend a perfect cosiness to the afternoon.

This is one of the reasons I love being an international person.“

✨ Clothing Swap, come, bring those outfits that don’t use anymore & exchange them for new ones.
Please keep in mind that the rule is “bring something in order to take something”..
At closing, all collected items will be donated to those in need.
