We live in the center of the small mountain village of Theth, in the heart of the Albanian Alps. If you require any additional services, we can organise guiding, transport or horse rental (for horse riding or luggage transfer). On top of that, we are happy to give advice about hiking trails and destinations. We are located right in the center of Theth, just next to the church of the village, which makes for an ideal base for explor ing the village and actually most of the hikes that can be done in the area. The kulla (blood feud tower), old corn mill and neighbourhood of Ulaj are in close promixity. Furthermore, a leisurely 40 minutes to the South you can explore the Grunasi waterfall and canyon. The trailhead for the transfer hike to Valbona is located 10 minutes walking time to the North from here. ++++++++++++ Our guesthouse is located about 100m from the church, which is in Theth's center ("Qender"). If coming from Shkoder, follow the road that leads into the village until you cross the bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right and follow the road, to your left you will see the school, a large red building. 500m from there you will arrive at a junction where you will need to keep left. The road makes a bend to the right and goes a little uphill - you will already see the church now. Once at the church, keep right. Our house is the one with the dark red/burgundy roof. Arriving from Valbona via Valbona Pass, follow the signs to the center of Theth, find the school, and follow directions as described above. Driving from Shkoder to Theth is roughly a 75km/3h drive. Take the outward road towards Koplik (SH1) and turn right after 15km at the roundabout where Theth is signposted. Keep following the main road, which will lead you through the villages of Dedaj and Boga and over the Buni i Thores Pass until it takes you down to Shala commune and to the village of Theth. Please note that the road from Boga onwards is only accessible for off-road, high-clearance vehicles! If you're using public transport, there are daily minibuses from Shkoder to Theth, which leave at the Sheshi Ura e Maxharrit at the Northern end of Shkoder. They depart between 6am and 8am, so be sure to be there early. For any problems with finding places: For the whole of Albania, directions might not be available in the most organised way, but any person on the street will be happy to assist you with finding your way - don't hesitate to ask
