Dear Friends
As we all know 2020 has brought about some very different and lifetime experiences for everyone across the world. Some experiences have been painful and challenging some eye-opening and some bringing out the best in us as a human race.
The fear the panic the uncertainty has been very real and we all wished to wake up from this nightmare. However, as a deep thinker, I believe there are untapped resources within each one of us that only emerge once we gain wisdom behind such experience and God/Universe wants us to become stronger resilient and wiser as a result of them.
I would like to share how 2020 has affected our small Café Business located next to ‘Smile You Are In Sharjah’. Bait Al Shai Al Sailani as it’s called has been temporarily closed since April since it is located within the vicinity of Sharjah Jubail Bus Station. Our main source of income since its opening in 2014 has been from the daily bus/taxi commuters from the Bus station. We have been hugely affected financially since lockdown, as the entire area has been closed with barricades after the closure of bus services.
Thanks to the Municipality of Sharjah we have received permit to open the closed passage leading to our Café so that cars/people can enter the area and order Karak Tea/ Snacks etc.
We have around 9 staff working for us and we have not laid them off despite the uncertainty and the closure of the business. We continued giving them salary/food/accommodation hoping things will improve once we re-open. Their families too are dependent upon the Café business just like ours.
It has been almost 5 months now and are extremely short of funds especially considering schools are also going to open and other expenses are also underway like renewals, staff salaries, rents etc
We would request Citizens and Residents of UAE to support us in restoring our Café business by visiting and ordering Karak Tea / Snacks from us. Our boys are eagerly waiting to restart serving our clients.
