Not only are we all very passionate about health and fitness, but we also have one other passion in common: ice cream! Living in the often hot, sunny climate in Dubai, we often find ourselves indulging in a sweet frozen treat. However we are always very wary of products on the market. The most common and popular products often have excessive amounts of sugar and unhealthy fats. On top of that, man
y of them also have some form of chemical additives, be they sweeteners, flavours or preservatives. We definitely wouldn't be happy consuming those on a regular basis, knowing their detrimental effects on health! Our concerns didn't end with us. We had many friends, family members and loved ones in mind, many of whom had medical issues such as diabetes, obesity, food intolerances and the likes. Thats when the idea sparked! We wanted a delicious ice cream that we were happy to give all our loved ones, from the youngsters to the elderly, without fear of any potential health risks! So we started looking at alternatives to standard ice-cream. We did find healthier options, and even protein ice-cream variants, both locally and internationally. However, none really fit the bill when we looked into them closely! With issues ranging from unconventional tastes and textures, artificial sweeteners and ingredients to very high protein content, we came to the conclusion that if we wanted something truly special that ticks all the boxes, we would have to make it ourselves! From that point onwards our goal was clear: we were going to make a healthy, natural ice cream that had just the right amount of protein in it for EVERYONE to enjoy, whether young or old, diabetic or gluten intolerant! We are adamant in ensuring no chemicals or artificial ingredients ever get into the mix. We aimed to create something we could give our elders with health issues, our fitness buddies who love to work out and lead a healthy lifestyle, and even our children who could use a bit of time off sugar... in short - everyone we cared for! And so we set off on our journey for delicious healthy perfection, and for months on end we developed, tested, scrapped and restarted until we finally got it just right! The result is our delicious, uncompromising, healthy protein ice cream: Wheyts!
