Etihad Rail will open its Madinat Zayed and Liwa passenger stations on November 30, bringing the UAE’s national rail service to the Al Dhafra Region in time for its annual events and festivals season.

The launch was directed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, following a meeting with an Etihad Rail delegation. The new stations are expected to improve access to destinations across the network and provide visitors with another way to reach Al Dhafra.

Etihad Rail began passenger operations between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah on June 30. Dubai and Al Dhaid stations are scheduled to open on September 30, as the 900-kilometre national network continues its phased expansion across the UAE.
