Barely a moment to breathe, yet alone honour Worker’s day - so let’s call it Worker’s Month, as we worked our hands off!

Thank you to a team who work to be their best at every stop, all year round. Your dedication, passion and grace are a true inspiration not only to me, but to all those that pass through the Monate passage.

Keep it up, and to the sky we flow 🚀

Resurrected. Refreshed. Ready.

We know we have been a little silent - [as an entrepreneur we sometimes need to prioritize our moments of silence & gentleness, so that we are able to manage the highs and lows with grace, kindness and patience] - join us in a fraction of a snapshot of what was, 2025.

Slide 1 - doing what we know best, flapping our gums to the tune of everything we love.

Slide 2 - a devastatingly difficult one to swallow 😥
We lost our dear Prince of Coffee unexpectedly, something I don’t quite think we will get over.

Slide 3 - he shaped so much of who it is I am as a leader, and how it is that we show up as a team.

Slide 4 - with inconsistent power supply, really came through at a time we needed them - doing the work that matters.

Slide 5 - a new journey at Haval Woodmead, could not be more grateful.

Slide 6 - to all our women that make being ‘women in business’ seem like a real possibility.

Slide 7 - another blessing from another corporate who cares. Thank you White & Case for blessing us with a new machine and grinder - the blood and sweat of a coffee business.

Slide 8 - ‘each one teach one’ is a huge part of our programming, and we cannot wait for this year’s group of 2nd years.

Slide 9 - always a pleasure getting new fits 🫶🏾 can’t wait till we’re in the space of merch.

Slide 10 - the end of an era that really taught us to manage the grab and go market.

Slide 11 - all things Monate, pictured.

Slide 12 - a huge thanks to our finance partners, Finance Africa, for assisting in our year on year growth (we are quite sure you are already wondering where our request for the year is lol)

Side 13 - the team that kept us floating! A huge brava 🫱🏾‍🫲🏽👏🏾

Never did I imagine my journey including being a Guest Lecturer and Subject Matter Expert Trainer - and here we are, 3 years later!

I’ve felt more confident with every year, as I learn that I was born to be a part of the community that empowers & guides the youth - placing them in a better position to contribute towards a more inclusive and sustainable South Africa.

A huge thank you to for entrusting me with your students - you’ve been a big part of helping formalize what it is that I found myself naturally slipping into. Your team and students are an absolute delight!

It’s a true gift to be able to share your passion and learnings - and to pay it forward. I look back on my journey, and I am grateful to my team for assisting me in creating a love for coffee in others - together we have created many a barista, and I look forward to continuing to do so with you.

Watch the Monate boys and girls, as we continue to build our training legacy - something exciting is brewing in the pipelines 😎

Everything happens as it should, when it should - the story is already written, you just need the patience to move from page to page, cover to cover (A lesson it has taken me 7 years to learn, respect and appreciate).

We are so grateful to this gift from our partner, - it could not have come at a better time 😅 - this (large) glimmer of light, allows us to know that there has always has been a light at the end of the tunnel, we often just keep our heads down too long and forget that it is there…waiting for us.

Thank you Avis. Your contribution to building smme’s where it matters, does not go unnoticed - keep up the good work 👏🏾 - we’ll continue to make you proud.

A big thank you to my partner in crime, - none of this would be possible without you - the dream team I’ve always imagined.

This time last week, we had the pleasure of spending our 67(+) minutes at Imbali Enhle Hiv and Aids Foundation Care Centre - serving the community with a warm cup of Monate.

What a special moment it was to see just how many people shared their Mandela Day giving back to those who need and appreciate these moments most!
