This is not popular, but understand this: Being good looking is an asset. Being ugly is a liability. That is why attractive people are usually given opportunities that ugly people don't get. And that's why you must always have something else to offer either than your looks.
If you are an ugly man, and you dress shabbily, then you will be mistaken for a thief. It's just how human beings see things. Your appearance matters to people.
That's why you always have to compensate. If You're not as attractive as the others, then develop confidence, you don't need beauty to be confident. You just need to tap into what you are good at, what makes you stand out. It could be the fact that you are a well spoken person, you're well read and are able to hold intelligent conversations. That gives you an
advantage.
We all know a beautiful woman who has no intelligence at all, how worse would she be if she was ugly and stupid? How about if she was beautiful and intelligent, how much better? We men understand this truth, that's why ugly men compensate by making a lot of money. They understand that their ability to make money compensates for their ugly appearances.
I'm not ugly and neither am I Mr Universe, but I am very outspoken, my written and oral communication skills are better than average - I know that's an asset. I might not turn heads when I walk into a room, but I sure know how to make sense. Given an opportunity, I'll be able to convince just about anyone to invest in me.
You have to know where your strengths lie. Maybe you're a good cook? Maybe you know how to make people feel good about themselves?
