So. My first post in a few years. Tomorrow 8th January 2023 will be my last day on South Beach. Lauryn, Joshua and I are going to start an exciting new chapter in our lives when we relocate to Mauritius next week.

I've posted this picture of Brian and I at the very beginning of our South Beach adventure. So many memories and so many awesome people have crossed our path since that day 11 years ago.

The support that Coffee Guys has received over the years has been truly humbling. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have imagined that such an amazing community would form on the grass patch. We have been truly blessed.

Please join me tomorrow if you can and have a coffee to celebrate the best early morning community in Durban!

I am leaving you in the very capable hands of my partner Tracy and the awesome skills of Lucky and Ronald who you have all come to know over the past few years. They will continue the Coffee Guys legacy.

End of an era. Thursday 26 December 2019. The last time my brother and I worked alongside each other on South Beach. Brian goes off to Wilderness to join the love of his life Beth who is relocating from Wales to eventually be with him. 30 years working together Brian. It's been a blast!

Raw sewage has been flowing unhindered into the sea at the Westbrook Blue Flag beach for more than four weeks. Westbrook councillor Geoff Pullan said officials were aware of the problem, but were unable to fix it because of the ongoing municipal strike. He said they took down the blue flag at Westbrook a couple of weeks ago. “Various aspects were not up to standard. Obviously we will not fly the blue flag until these failings which includes the efficient running of the pump station have been attended to.”

Striking Ethekwini municipality workers have allegedly prevented the sewage pump station from being fixed.
