We wanted to share something personal today.

Shane’s mom played a huge role in shaping the man behind Shane’s Shauce.

Long before the brand existed, she was teaching him in the kitchen — how to balance flavour, how to be patient, how to work hard, and most importantly, how to care.

She showed him that food isn’t just food. It’s connection. It’s love. It’s bringing people together.

In many ways, Shane’s Shauce started with her.

This post is to honour the woman who taught him the tricks of the trade and whose influence lives on in every bottle.

We hope we’re making you proud ❤️

A little backstory…

Shane and Jax moved from the chaos of Johannesburg to the peace of Hermanus because they wanted a quieter life by the sea. What they found was more than that — they found home.

This town, the ocean views, and the incredible public art around Hermanus inspire us every day.

So we thought — why not bring that inspiration into Shane’s Shauce?

Locally inspired.
Lovingly made.
Fermented right here on the coast.

The next batch of Shane’s Shauce is officially in progress 🔥

First, the chillies go into fermentation — where time does its thing and the flavour starts building properly.

Then comes the pot… where everything comes together.

We don’t rush the process.
We don’t mass produce.
Every batch is made the way it should be — homemade with care and full of kick.

Big shoutout to the crew at the SCL Small Craft League and Jan-Hendrik Künneke for putting Shane’s Shauce to work on the fire this weekend.

After a day on the water, nothing beats a proper braai with lekker flavour doing the rounds.

Bass boats. Hot coals. Good company.
