We’re always creating new items to add onto our menu. And since it’s Tacos Tuesday somewhere in the world. We’d like to introduce these new Bad Boys!

We’ve named them in Memory after an amazing Human, Carmen. Who sadly passed away last Wednesday. You know they say it’s your character that determines the turn out at your funeral and not the weather, and the turn out on Saturday as we bid farewell to Carmen was an over flow of people from far and wide. The girl was Sunshine in Human form - She was known to cook the best hang over Mutton Curry which Michelle Ganess and I can vouch for!

“The McCarty” Tacos will be available (In Spicy Beef or Chicken) and added onto the Menu from
The 19th of October onwards.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

In the world of Social Media, one criticism can destroy the business built over years, in a matter of minutes. Even if the issue was not valid, or if the customer lied or misunderstood, it is too late to rectify the damage done. One critical post and many others having an equally bad day, join in on the barrage to bring down the establishment further. I’ve spent the past 4 months enjoying this new experience but also having to manage social anxiety brought upon by a few who think it’s okay to bully over the internet.

Yes, we make mistakes almost every single restaurant does. But I try to rectify the situations as politely as I can.
Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives & relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work or life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner. All whilst being an individual, colleague, family or friend, it’s one of the hardest things you will try & balance.

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s extremely exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses and hopefully more of us will stick around! 🌸
