Enjoy the thrill of tiger fishing, with a fish eagle keeping an ever-watchful eye over your activities, before watching the sun set over the Okavango Delta. Zimbabwe is amazingly beautiful, with an abundance of wildlife, the famous Victoria Falls, Cariba, Mana Pools and the Zimbabwe Ruins. Oh, then there's the spectacular mountain scenery of Lesotho, the Mountain Kingdom. A magnificent opportunity to explore nature still little changed by man, still unspoiled by crowds of tourists, and to appreciate the untamed but beautiful landscapes of the soaring Maluti and Drakensberg mountains. Most of our excursions, locally as well as in neighboring countries, are offered as self-catering and camping, making them affordable compared to the more upmarket options of visiting destinations where accommodation and meals are included. ONLY LIMITED PLACES STILL AVAILABLE

BUSH MECHANICS COURSE
Cederberg 4x4 will once again be facilitating a Bush Mechanics Course in Durbanville this coming November. The course is not to make you a qualified mechanic, but is aimed at empowering you with knowledge to help you trouble shoot problems when stranded somewhere in the great outdoors. Lots of practical information will also be shared by the two instructors helping you in planning your preventative vehicle maintenance and what to carry in your vehicle in case of a mechanical failure.

Most of our 4x4 vehicles are fitted with a dual battery system. We have invited for Gerhard Gersbach, the owner of Deltec Batteries in Durban Road Bellville to guide you through the trouble shooting process when experiencing problems with your dual battery system. This is one of the problems that have occurred most often during Cederberg 4x4 trips. See the attached agenda for full details of the course.

AFTER A LONG YEAR IN THE SADDLE YOU OWE YOURSELF A BREAK AWAY FROM THE RAT RACE

JOIN CEDERBERG 4X4 ON AN AMAZING BREAKAWAY TO THE WEST COAST

WHERE: BETWEEN HONDEKLPBAAI AND GERT DU TOIT-SE-BAAI.

WHEN: 16 – 22 DECEMBER 2026.

No visit to the West Coast will be complete without a visit to the well-known town of Hondeklipbaai. This will also be the most northern point of our West Coast trip. Many well-known landmarks and places of interest will be visited.
Not only will we be setting camp in some of the most remote places along the South African coast, we will also be driving the sand tracks as close as legally possible to the ocean, ensuring an amazing experience.
Camp will be set only a stone’s throw from the ocean at only two campsites. Four nights at the first and two nights at the second. This is great as you only need to set camp twice on a 7 x day camping trip.
Activities, for the children, like kite flying and stick bread making, while the adults try their hand at harvesting black mussels or other shellfish from the ocean, for the more avid fishermen try your hand at fishing or join in a game of “Boulier” on the beach. Beach games can be enjoyed by all.
Optional day drives will be done exploring the many sand tracks along the coast with its many beaches, bays, coves and amazing rock formations sculptured by the fury of the Atlantic Ocean. Nobody can ever get bored while visiting this unique part of the South African coast with so much to see and do.

A WEEKEND TRIP TO THE EVER POPULAR “THE DUNES” SAND 4x4 TRAIL IN LAMBERT’S BAY

WHEN: 20 – 22 NOVEMBER 2026.

RENDEZVOUS: VAN PUTTENSVLEI CAMPSITE approximately 7km before LAMBERT’S BAY on the R364 from CLANWILLIAM.

Arrive any time after 14h00 on Friday 20 November and set camp for the weekend at Van Puttensvlei campsite. Upon your arrival check with the owner which section of the camp has been allocated to Cederberg 4x4. An early arrival will give seafood lover the opportunity to enjoy a seafood lunch at one of the many eateries in Lambert’s Bay and visit Bird Island, a must for any first time visitor to Lambert’s Bay.

Saturday will be the highlight of the weekend when we drive the ever-popular “The Dunes” 4x4 trail ensuring great fun for all. An amazing experience to say the least.

START PLANNING AND SAVING NOW FOR YOUR BOTSWANA DELUXE TRIP NEXT YEAR.

WHEN: 28 JUNE – 17 JULY 2027.

WHAT MAKES THIS BOTSWANA TRIP A DELUXE TRIP?

There are various reasons why the Botswana trip next year is branded as a Deluxe trip. Firstly, this circular Botswana trip will take place over a 19 x nights/20 x days period, visiting some of the most popular destinations in Botswana. Secondly, the trip is planned around visiting top class lodges and campsite throughout Botswana and the northern part of the Caprivi, offering numerous types of activities that will appeal to all. Thirdly, all the campsites and lodges we will be visiting will allow participants enough time to enjoy game drives in search of the Big 5. If the sighting of the Big 5 is not at the top of your priority list but you prefer to try your hand at tiger fishing, there are three lodges/campsites where you will be able to try your hand at tiger fishing. You will be required to bring your own fishing equipment. Guided game drives over a two day period in the Kaziikini Community Concession are also included. Last year every vehicle on the trip spotted two leopards on the first game drive there. As a group we will enjoy the popular sunset cruise on the Chobe River where excellent game viewing will be enjoyed. For the bird lovers a visit to the Nata Bird Sanctuary will definitely tick a to-do box. Thousands of pelicans and flamingos gather on the pans near Nata. LaKubu Island in the Makgadikgadi Pans, used to be the largest inland lake in Africa, will be another highlight. Here you will experience an amazing sunset and sunrise second to none, with incredible star-gazing opportunities as there is no light reflexion from nearby towns. If you have been fortunate with your game sightings in search of the Big 5, Khama Rhino Sanctuary will allow you to make the final tick in the sighting of the rhinos in the sanctuary. All in all a well-planned trip ensuring that participants enjoy some of the best Botswana has to offer and activities ensuring many highlights.
