Give your table a Mezé corner while the braai heats up. 🫒🫓

The Mezé recipe book literally points to it: build a platter, add pita pockets, marinated bits and a selection of olives and pesto. And you are sorted!

😋 Our simple setup:

1. Warm Mezé Pita pockets.
2. One bowl Mezé Pimento Olives.
3. Mezé Pepperdew piquante peppers dip
4. Mezé Braailoumi, cut into cubes.
5. Mezé Basil Pesto.
5. A quick chopped tomato and cucumber salad.

💡 Tip: Put these down first. People snack. You cook in peace. Your table stays happy. Start small. Make it generous. That is how hosting feels easy.

When you need a snack that feels like you hosted, make this olive and feta smash for your table. 🇬🇷🫒

Ingredients
- 1 tub Mezé Pimento Olives, drained
- 150g feta, crumbled
- 1 small clove garlic, grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Black pepper
Optional: chopped parsley

Method
1. Roughly chop the olives.
2. Mash with feta, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice.
3. Taste and add pepper.
4. Spoon into a bowl. Drizzle a little extra olive oil.
5. Serve with warm pita or toasted bread.

Tip: do not blitz it smooth. Keep it chunky so it clings to bread and does not go watery on your table.

Make it once. Then you will keep a tub of olives for “just in case”.

Mother’s Day is one of our favourite reminders to slow down and actually look after the woman who has been looking after everyone else, forever.

It is not about fancy plans or big speeches. It is about giving Mum a proper day off. No cooking. No cleaning. No “what’s for lunch?” questions. Just a table that feels warm, generous and easy.

Let Mezé’s range do the heavy lifting. Put a few favourites in the middle, warm the pita, pour something cold and let everyone help themselves. Dips, cheeses, olives, pestos, whatever your family loves. It comes together fast, but it still feels thoughtful, like you actually made an effort.

Mum sits down first. Mum gets the first plate. The rest of you can do the running around for once. That is the whole point. 💛🌸

Mezé Pimento Olives are one of those fridge staples that make you look more organised than you actually are.

No cooking. No planning. No fussing around. You open the tub, put them in a bowl, and suddenly there’s something proper on the table while you sort out the rest of the meal.

They’re briny, savoury and very easy to keep reaching for. And yes, the pimento does matter. It brings that softer, slightly sweeter bite that rounds out the salt, so the olives feel generous rather than sharp.

Simple little thing. Big table energy.

Are you already an olive person, or are you still waiting for the one that wins you over?

Freedom Day tip for your table: warm pita first, then everything else feels generous.

You can have dips and cheese ready, but if the bread is cold, the whole spread falls flat. Warm the pita until it puffs and gets brown spots, about 30 seconds to 1 minute, then keep it warm in a lidded pot while you braai.

Our hosting rhythm:

1. Warm the pita and cover it.
2. Put out your Mezé dips and pestos.
3. Add a quick chopped salad.
4. Let everyone build their own plate at your table.

Tip: brush a little Mezé olive oil and sprinkle oregano and salt if you want that “special occasion” feel.

What is your Freedom Day style: a big braai board or a simple spread that just works?

Start with warm pita. Your table will look well-planned.

Some recipes are there for the days when you want something delicious on your table without overthinking it. This is one of them.

Add cherry tomatoes, garlic and olive oil to a baking dish. Let them roast until soft and bursting. Then add Mezé Fior Di Latte Mozzarella Balls and bake just until soft and creamy. Finish with fresh basil and serve with Crispy Mezé pita.

It is rich without feeling heavy. Fresh, comforting and easy to share.

You will need: 250g Mezé Fior Di Latte Mozzarella Balls 2 cups cherry tomatoes 2 to 3 tbsp Mezé olive oil 2 cloves garlic, chopped Salt and black pepper Fresh basil Crispy Mezé pita

Method: Bake the tomatoes, garlic and olive oil at 200°C for 15 minutes. Add the Mezé Fior Di Latte Mozzarella Balls. Bake for another 5 to 7 minutes. Top with basil and serve warm with bread.

Would you serve this as a starter or let it steal the show as the main event on your table?

If you want your table to look like you planned, do one Caprese move and stop there.

The Mezé recipe book keeps it simple: tomatoes, Mezé Fior Di Latte or mozzarella balls, basil, balsamic, Mezé olive oil, salt and pepper. Slice the tomatoes and the mozzarella balls into about 1cm discs, then layer with basil.

My best tip: season in layers. A little salt on the tomato, then drizzle, then finish with pepper right at the end. It tastes brighter and your table gets that clean first bite.

If you want it even easier, use the recipe book dressing trick: mix 2 teaspoons Mezé Basil Pesto with the same amounts of Mezé olive oil and balsamic, then pour over.

Are you a classic basil person, or do you go pesto when you are in a hurry?

Put it down in the middle and let everyone build their own perfect plate.

Mezé pestos: one spoon, the whole table tastes better. 🌿
