In celebrating Guillermo del Toro birthday today, I have attempted to recreate the the beautiful character of Carlos in the creation of Pinocchio by the legendary film maker. In this scene Carlo is admiring the wooden Crucifix Gippeto was commissioned to make for the church, holding the pinecone which represents life itself, only to be taken away by devastating airstrike by enemy aeroplanes... a touching and iconic moment which touched my soul
