Coffee really does make campus look happier. ☕️

Acorn drinks, sunny walks, and the kind of smiles we’re ready to see again this fall. Now the real question: what specialty drinks should be on the menu when everyone’s back?

Earth Fest had food, sustainability, and a few special guests who stole the show. 🐐

Celebrity Dairy brought the goats, students brought the attention, and suddenly Earth Fest had a very clear favorite photo op.

Before the semester gets busy, some of our team traded planning meetings for a morning at Loy Farm. 🌱

We spent the morning helping Taylor spread mulch, plant tomatoes, and harvest eggplant, okra, and onions. The weather could not have been better, and it was a nice change of pace before the semester gets going.

A little dirt never hurt. 😊

Some of the Elon Dining team traveled to New Orleans last week to pick up a few things for campus... six national awards! 🏆

Among 390+ submissions from colleges and universities across the country, Elon Dining received more awards than any other institution in NACUFS this year.

🥈 Innovative Dining Program of the Year
🥈 Sustainable Procurement
🥈 Residential Special Event of the Year: Earth Fest 2025
🥈 Residential Special Event of the Year: Mardi Gras
🥈 Special Diet Recipe of the Year
🥉 Wellness and Nutrition Program of the Year

These awards recognize the creativity, care and hard work our team puts into creating an exceptional dining experience for the Elon community. We also want to thank all of our campus and community partners who help make that experience possible every day. Elon Dining would not be what it is without their collaboration and support, and we are proud to bring all six awards home to campus!

Through education, professional networking, benchmarking and industry resources, NACUFS supports dining professionals in creating exceptional campus dining experiences.

Part 2 of our double local partner visit: . 🌊

Captain John and Captain Drew, with , took some of the Elon Dining team 65 miles off the NC shore for an 8.5-hour deep-sea fishing trip in the Atlantic. Our chefs baited hooks, dropped weights, waited for the tug, and reeled them in one after another.

By the end of the trip, the team had caught 45 fish with the guidance of Captain John and Captain Drew, learning what it's like to be an NC-based fisherman.

Being that far offshore made the whole process feel a lot more real. It’s one thing to know where our seafood comes from. It’s another to bait the hook, reel it in, and bring it back to campus to prep, cook, and serve. Thank you to all the fisherman out there who make local seafood possible!

Two local partners, one weekend, and a lot to recap. First up: . 🌾

Last weekend, our culinary team traveled to Oriental, NC to visit Tidewater Grain and see where some of our rice gets its start.

Justin and Jake took the team through the fields, drove them through 100+ acres of rice, showed us the equipment used to process it, and shared how Tidewater Grain became part of bringing Carolina Gold rice back to Eastern North Carolina after 120 years.

Getting this close to the process gives our team a deeper connection to the ingredients we serve and the local partners behind them.

Part 2 coming soon. 🎣

Around this time last year, part of our Elon Dining team visited in Hurdle Mills, NC to see where some of our freshest ingredients get their start. 🥬

From rows of lettuce and basil to crates of microgreens, the visit gave our team a closer look at how Red Hawk grows, packs, and delivers the Certified Organic herbs, greens, and lettuces used across campus.

A good reminder that great meals start long before they hit the plate.
