Shout out to for helping to fight food insecurity in our community! They are collecting both nonperishable food and toiletries for People's Place as a part of the Great Give Back.

Bring some non-perishables or personal care products to the library next time you take out a book, or simply go to enjoy one of the last places where we don’t have to spend money to experience!

The Kingston Community Fridge Committee is looking for one or two members from the Rondout community to join us as we look into adding a community fridge to the Rondout neighborhood!

Current committee members are volunteers that share a passion for fighting food insecurity in Kingston, and we align ourselves with the values of Kingston Mutual Aid (ex: solidarity not charity, and collective, participatory community support). We are looking for a new member who shares similar values, has an understanding of the needs of the Rondout community, is able to attend bi-weekly zoom meetings (possibly weekly) until the fridge is up and running, and can help the team support Rondout fridge operations.

If you’re interested in joining please send us a DM or email: [email protected]

Thanks for your interest and commitment to food sovereignty in our community!

A lot of great items at the fridges on this grey Wednesday! Over at the Van Buren fridge there’s some organic pasta, Lara bars, apples, KEFC prepared meals and more. The could use some love, but there are a few bags of onions, some apples and more KEFC prepared meals in the fridge and freezer. Thanks to the community for sharing those items, keep ‘em coming!

Update at the shopping list! Thanks to all that contribute ideas and drop off! Smoked fish lasts quite long in the fridge, and canned fish is a great, storable source of protein. 🐟Ingredients for tuna salad also makes for a great meal. And who can say no to mangoes?? 🥭
