✨PICKADILLY✨

A little backstory on the name, the idea, and how it came to life.

A bookstore and cafe was something we talked about for years, more as a pipe dream, and what we would want it to be, and where we would want it to be. The perfect place popped up for rent along West Street in Port Colborne, and so it began.

We’ve done quite a bit of travelling throughout Europe and the UK, and in 2023 we ended up moving to England on an Ancestry visa, as my Grandpa was born there.

Our time there was short and sweet, but something that’s made a huge impact on our lives.
So, as a play on the infamous “Piccadilly Circus”, my last name “Pickersgill”, and calling Dylan “Dilly”, comes Pickadilly Books & Coffee.

Being able to bring this to life in our home town is very exciting (and sometimes surreal), and we’d like to think that in some capacity the UK will one day become a second home for us again, but we will start with one pipe dream at a time!

🗓️ Weeks 2 & 3 (or somewhere in between)

A whole Bookstore to get ready but we sometimes choose to work in the same 15 square feet ✌🏻

Spring views from our front windows.

Can you picture a window seat with a hot coffee and good book?

It took about 3 weeks of continuous painting to transform the entire space, and this is where we started (we are still finishing up painting projects).

Big shoutout to for supplying us with gallons and gallons of paint!

I think it was 9 gallons later, but so worth the transformation.
A big thanks to Eric Fletcher Painting in Port Colborne for taking the time to help us with this project!

All of the empty paint cans.

Any guesses what for? 👀
