Five years ago on this day all bars had to close by midnight liquor stores were closing. This is a picture of the line up at the liquor store to buy liquor on your last chance before the shut down and I have a customer outside the Boot Scoot with a billboard on him, saying last chance to drink. Things after that got worse as bars were closed. Liquor stores are closed. People are going out of state to buy liquor. Our governor in his great wisdom decided that you could get Covid if you drank alcohol without a meal so the governors menu was created. Two fish sticks, two onion, rings, 3 french fries, two cheese sticks, and of course the Wolf dog.  At the Scoot, we would just put a plate of food in front of someone that wanted to have a beer and told them not to eat any of it because it would be recycled to other customers.

When bars were allowed to reopen, it had to be outside seating only, and this was in the middle of winter. Wow!  then, when inside, seating started, no one was allowed to sit at the bar I had to be at tables, 6 feet distance from one another, and only family members could sit at one table together, and they had to order food before they could get an alcoholic beverage. 

I guess the lesson we learned from this is that if you order alcohol you will get Covid unless you eat a meal in conjunction with your alcohol order.

Celebrate New Year's Eve at the Scoot starting at 8 PM. We will have drink specials and a complementary midnight champagne toast, as well as a pork roast. Of course, there will be stupid hats and noisemakers.
