Friends, we need your help. At the end of 2024 & beginning of 2025, God put it on my heart to open the Velvet Hanger. Mind you, he knew I had no experience opening and running a business, but he told me to do it none the less. Day in and day out, he put this on my heart. I prayed about it daily. I'm at the point in my life that I don't question God anymore, I just DO when he speaks to me. I have been at the same job for 36 years, so opening a business was not something I ever thought I would do. Thankfully, God lined up an excellent location for us and sent me an old friend (Shelly) and a new friend (Rhonda) to accomplish what I thought would be an impossible task. These two Godly women have been an absolute rock to me. They shared my vision and my passion and have worked tirelessly to get the store off the ground. Before we opened, the three of us prayed over and anointed every room in the building. We walked the grounds around it and prayed, asking God to bless it and send us souls that need saving. Not only was this to be a place to shop, it was to be a place we could minister to people, pray with people, and help people whenever we can and trust me, all of that has happened. At work I'm in a tiny office and see the same few folks every day. I wanted the ability to reach people, to meet as many people as possible with the hopes that God would send just ONE person that might need to hear about his saving grace and mercy. Today, I'm in the business of saving souls mainly. Everything else is just gravy. When God put all of this on my heart and I did what he told me to do, I assumed he would send droves of customers to keep this precious little store afloat. This is where faith comes in. Surely if I do what he says, he will provide. I never underestimate how awesome my God is and that's why we're reaching out. The reality is, I have not made one penny from the shop. I had a little nest egg I used to start the business and keep it afloat, but that money is just about gone. Without me supplementing, the store will not make it. So, you can see the quandary we are in. Without the support of friends, family, and community, we will have no choice but to close at the end of May. I will officially be out of money. We love our little shop. It's beautiful. We have beautiful items at great prices. We love our customers and consignors, and we want so badly to stay open. I feel like our business is needed in this community. You can come shop with us, not have to drive to Augusta and our prices are sooo much better! We literally have anything you could need. Guys, we have tried everything we can think of to draw attention to the store and bring in customers..... constant FB & TikTok posts, business cards, bigger brighter sign, large balloons on the sign to draw attention our way (we still have people who live in Wrens come in and say "I had no idea you were here"). So, we are asking all of you to do a couple of things for us.....First, add us to your prayer list & pray for us. If you have not been in the store, please come check us out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find and how nice our shop is. If you are a regular customer (we appreciate y'all so much!!), please make a post of something you've bought or just give us a shout out on FB. If you are a consignor with us, please make a post on FB/TikTok telling your friends and family about us and where they can get great clothes at a great price (this helps both of us). If you are an “influencer”, come shop, video & post. You get a store credit! When we make a post on FB/TikTok, PLEASE like it, comment something and/or share it. This helps our posts get more attention and the algorithm loves the interaction. This will expand our reach. I try to do live sales on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Join us! If you can't watch live, watch later. You can still make a purchase. Me and Ella have a Whatnot show every Wednesday & Friday at 2:30, Join us (store name Teedee1997). Great deals on there plus we do trivia to make it more fun! Basically, we need you guys to support us so we can keep this shop open. Me, Rhonda & Shelly all felt like our customers needed to know we are struggling. We need them to know we need their help getting the word out about our shop and how great it is. The three of us have created quite the bond and we don't want to part ways with each other either. We enjoy being at the store together, our own little family (we have precious Emmelyne & Ella too). So, we are being as transparent as we can be......"build it and they will come"......we are waiting on y'all! Come shop, share/like/comment our posts, tell your friends & family about us. Help us stay open! We love and appreciate all of you and hope to serve you for a very long time, God willing. ~ Tara

The American Hero Pro Rodeo (Grovetown, GA) tonight at Steed's Dairy, gates open at 5pm, live music starts at 6pm, and the rodeo kicks off at 7:30pm. This is not just a rodeo. It is a whole experience, and it supports an incredible cause for our veterans too. ❤️

Proceeds from the American Hero Pro Rodeo go to support the Bright Eyes Veterans Housing Initiative (Veterans Villa), helping provide housing and support for homeless veterans right here in our community. And a few local food banks...
