Winsted's Food Week is an extension of National Food Day, occurring October 24th across the United States. Food Day is now on its third year and is a broad national grassroots campaign, supported by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, with five goals:
1. Support sustainable and organic farms
3. Reform factory farms to protect the environment and animals
5. Support fair working conditi
ons for food and farm workers
In Winsted we will extend the Food Day activities from August 6th through August 24th in a continued effort to educate and promote healthier eating in our community. Winsted Food Week is currently in its second year. This event is presented by The Shafeek Nader Trust.
