Welcome back to the 2026 SUNDAY BAYOU BASH series! This year there will be a 4 tournament series. Below are the dates.

300$ entry fee
2 man team entry, can fish solo but must pay full entry
*Only one alternate fishing partner allowed for series.
*Kayaks are allowed, same rules apply when fishing alone
50$ BIG red (per team) 100% payout
50$ Most Spots (per team) 100% payout
1/2 lb penalty per dead fish
Check it stick (SLANT BOARD) with metal tail sweep to 27”
3 slot redfish 20”-28”
*LURES ONLY- tipping of hooks, chumming or using alive/dead bait will result in disqualification*
*All anglers are to act respectful towards other angler’s and tournament organizers failure to do so will end in a disqualification and or banned. (no hazing, slandering etc)
*All fish must be caught on rod and reel, An angler may only use 1 rod and reel at a time. *An angler may have only 1 line in the water at a time.
*All state and federal rules and regulations will apply. Violations will result in disqualification of team.
* No hole sitting by others is allowed prior to or during tournament hours.
*Drones are not allowed by the anglers during tournament hours.
*Only 2 people allowed in the boat while fishing.
*All fish weighed in must be within TPWD regulations. *If a fish is undersized or oversized it will result in a disqualification of the team. We will bump the fish twice and then the fish is no longer eligible.
*If a fish is caught and is damaged in any way, call tournament director immediately.
*Sponsors and organizers are not responsible for any injury’s, damages, nor-loss or theft to any property.
*Incase of a tie, the tie will be determined by weigh in time of the teams.
*Texas Boundaries only.
*Must NOT fish closer than 50yards from another angler
*Protesting will be allowed. (10 min after weigh in ends) $300
*Polygraph will be administered and any refusals will result in disqualification
*No fish pooling, swapping, sharing etc.. this will result in a disqualification.
*ALL WEIGH-MASTERS DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

*Launch at any public boat ramp.
*Launch at safe daylight TBD
*Weigh-in 2:00pm to 4:00pm

This past weekend we were on a mission to catch fish for a fish fry for my men’s fellowship this Wednesday. I enlisted the best capt.paul_martinez and we headed to Baffin for the weekend. I felt like Gods hand was at work in this trip. It didn’t happen how and when I thought it would happen. We got down to the cabin on Friday and the winds were ripping. No fish kept that evening. Saturday was supposed to be our big day to our best spot. Paul had a great plan and we made our longest run to the best spot we thought would hold fish but no fish still. Tried a new spot Saturday evening and caught a couple reds that gave us hope they would be there in the morning. Winds were still cranking too making running the boat and fishing difficult. Sunday morning was beautiful, water was still but the tide came way up. Where we thought they were going to be was a lot deeper and they were no where to be found. No one was catching anything first couple of hours when fishing is best. There were a lot boats in the distance stacked up catching black drum. We are watching them keep moving to stay on the fish and they keep getting closer to us. We were wading and just standing in the water watching the boats play leap frog. Drum don’t usually hit artificial lures and that was all we had. As they kept getting closer a boat peels off and makes its way toward us. It’s a guide Capt jesse_torres_outdoors, who i i hadn’t talked to in 5 plus years that recognized us. He offered us his bait and said they are right there go get them. By this time the school of drum were literally right at our feet and we had the bait we needed. Paul got us set up and 10 fish later we had what we were looking for for the fish fry. Not what i expected or how. I expected it but in the last hour God provided! None of it was a coincidence! 🙏
