That’s a wrap on summer slam! 110 racks of ribs, 6 pork butts, and 5 sticks of bologna smoked in 2 days. We want to say thank you to the community for supporting us and buying us out of meat! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. If we rest for 12 months we might have the energy to try it again! Thank you from Westville Fire!

Fire engines sure have changed since 1965 when Westville bought the “City Engine.” If it could tell stories, they’d be interesting to say the least. Sometimes we look back at old equipment and think, gosh I’m glad we’re not in that anymore. However, we would’ve liked the chance to ride the tailboard on that one when it was new. There’s a lot of changes and history in this picture, and we want to say thank you to the men, women, and families that have made Westville Fire Department possible!

Thank you to Cherokee Nation EMS for supporting us!

Last Wednesday, Cherokee Nation Emergency Medical Services donated a red side-by-side used for search and rescue operations to the Sparrow Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, a green side-by-side to the Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, a box trailer to the Chicken Creek Volunteer Fire Department that will be used as a deployment trailer, and two automatic defibrillators to the Westville Fire Department.

These donations will provide additional resources to support local emergency response efforts!

Cherokee Nation Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner , Chief of Staff Dr. Corey Bunch, District 3 Councilor Lisa Hall and District 8 Councilor Codey Poindexter were on hand to present this donation!

Today we were able to do a mock accident for the students at Westville High School. This incident simulated a two car motor vehicle accident caused by a drunk driver.

Thank you for the assistance from Adair County EMS, Air Evac Springdale, Bruner’s Towing and the WHS speech and drama students.

Today we had multiple fireman and ems members involved that are graduates from WHS. We were also glad to have Michael Nickens who is an air paramedic with Air Evac that is a graduate of WHS as well.

Thank you to all involved and we hope that the importance of proper driving and awareness was brought close to home today.

There’s also some videos in the comments.
