In the early 90's she was a member of the platinum selling girl group, "Seduction" which brought forth the hits, "You're My One & Only", "Heartbeat", "Could This Be Love", and "Two To Make It Right". Like many girl groups of the past, all went our separate ways. I kept myself busy by earning a BA from Howard University's School of Communication, starting an entertainment company (AVH Entertainment) and touring internationally as a singer-songwriter and actress. I toured for several years while my Mom built her catering business. She invited me to partner with her, but I did not think I had the time to assist her fully so I would help when I was in town and in any other way that I could. In 2011 my Mom passed away and I was devastated to the point that I did not feel like I could live without her. I leaned on my faith heavily and began using her recipes to bake, to ease my grief. I felt like my entertainment career kept me away from her and the rest of my family and I no longer had any passion or desire for it any more. While I am excited to be a food entrepreneur with products in Whole Foods Market. I am learning that as a woman, I am less than 10% of all food producers, and as an African American, I am less than 1%. I would love to be an example to get more women and African Americans more interested in food production and manufacturing.
