This week, Congressman Shri Thanedar voted to continue U.S. military aid to Israel.

As I’ve walked the neighborhoods of Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, one of the poorest districts in the nation, I’ve seen firsthand where our tax dollars are desperately needed.

Our families need affordable healthcare. Parents need affordable childcare and daycare. Our schools need investment. Our roads and infrastructure need repairs. Our seniors deserve dignity. Our neighborhoods need revitalization, and our small businesses need support.

I believe we must put Americans first. Before sending billions of taxpayer dollars overseas, Congress should make sure we’re meeting the needs of the people here at home.

The people of Michigan’s 13th District deserve a representative who fights first for the families he was elected to serve.

Yesterday was one of the most stressful mornings we’ve had in a long time.

We walked into a brownout on one of our busiest days, POS systems down, AC barely working, ice machine affected. It was chaos, but thanks to some incredible people, we pushed through.

Huge thank you to our customers for your patience, to our entire staff, Mike and Mona at US 12 who helped us get through, and especially to our friends and customers who stepped up and helped us restore the AC after the brownout. We also appreciate the DTE field crews who worked hard to help restore power.

Outages like this don’t just hurt financially, they take a real mental toll on business owners, employees, and families.

We need a stronger, more reliable electric grid. This has to change.
