Nosh Q&A Part 2: So how do you make money?
"We don't take any money from you. You're essentially paying your friend a few bucks to pick up a sandwich from Wisey's. Every dollar that goes out of your pocket goes directly to the student making a delivery. We generate revenue the same way Grubhub and Postmates bring in the dough. We promote local vendors on our app and ask for a percentage discount for every order that goes through our app (apps are expensive so we do need to make money somewhere). But we try to help mom and pop shops that aren't rolling in the paper (yet) by efficiently directing their marketing dollars towards us (their target market). Every time a deliverer picks up a sandwich, she or he goes into the shop, smells the food and understands where it is located. That's a lot more effective marketing than some pricy ad in the paper. Secondly, students want to use our app because food won't get lost (we know the campus because... we live here lol) and we have access to buildings for direct, convenient delivery (because we live here lol). So yeah... That's the nosh business model in a nutshell. It's a win, win, win. Yay Gtown community!"
