The 2022 Summit has been nothing short of amazing! Thank you for betting on me and investing in me. This opportunity came at a very challenging time in my personal and professional life. Today over 2500 small businesses across the country met with over 400 policy makers at to discuss advocacy for the engine of the American economy- small businesses. Thank you Deputy Mayor and Director for doing the work and taking the time out to listen to our stories and actively looking to solve challenges face. Times like these show us that this administration cares. Can’t wait to bring you guys into Ward 7 to speak with the local businesses in my community directly.

As many of you know, we changed our business name from Ditch the Wait to FareXchange. Since then we’ve gone through many changes. From staffing to operations- all in God’s design. Last year we applied for our trademark in many classes. I received an email yesterday from our attorney that one of our applications are nearly approved and has been uncontested by anyone in the newspaper. 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 We’re simply waiting for the certificate to arrive in the mail.

I want to thank all of you that has supported our business over the years. There has been many challenges, but all of them have been learning opportunities. Although we work with businesses, many people have asked how they can support us. Here’s your chance. We have these wonderful models repping our FareXchange signature tee. They are available for $25. We have green, black, grey and white, great quality t-shirts.

Representation matters!! If you’re able to, we would love it if you can help us spread the message of equity, fairness, and justice in business and employment. Hey guys. It’s been a while. Wanted to share this picture of me and some of my local fellow Goldman Sachs alum at happy hour last week hosted at the award-winning owned by our very own Bill Butcher and his wife, Karen who founded this place in 2011. If you ever get a chance visit them in Alexandria, VA. The brewery collaborates with local restauranteurs to provide food to its patrons. Once in a while you can grab a bite of some amazing hot dogs and tater tots cooked by our partner who ‘s business is located in Old Town, Alexandria, VA, the Nat’s Stadium and Eckington, NE, DC.

Today served as a reminder from a time not long ago - yet seemingly feels like forever ago. An office catered party welcoming the staff back into the building after two years of remote work. New employees, renovations, missed connections, and lunch dates. Marked by a sigh of relief for some and gratitude for others. Catering orders were a huge part of our revenue stream going into 2020. That all changed when the world shutdown- and rightfully so. Thankful to our customers who continued to trust us even when times got hard. Your partnerships are appreciated. 🙏🏽
