The weekend is approaching so where should we go for date night to eat?

Location is great next to the Crossland Parkway Pond.

Wait- there was no wait.

Wait staff- friendly but not very attentive. She was busy cleaning the entire time. Would have tried more of the beverages had she come around more often.

Food- I heard the blue cheese burger and Parmesann fries were out of this world. I have to say i was very disappointed! The burger was cold and dry the bun was not toasted. The parmesean fries were cold and the cheese fell off the fries.

Drinks- espresso Martini was good but definitely not the best in town. The old fashion that is served inside of a smokebox was probably the hilight of the entire experience! What a fun concept and it was good!

Atmosphere- it was busy several small groups enjoying themselves. The nice plush furniture to make it cozy. Unfortunately not many seating areas. Glad we didnt go at a busy time.

Restrooms- clean

Would definitely recommend and would rate this experience at a ( B)

Casa DO Brasil

Location is downtown close to several popular areas.

Wait- we made reservations and although they were busy we were seated right away.

Host- was friendly and polite.

Wait staff- one waitress was a little rude but we were not in her section so no biggie.

Food- Salad bar was great! So many options to choose from. Could seriously go back and only get the salad bar. Let’s get down to the good stuff thoigh because the meat was good. Tbh ive had better steaks (still great) but the assortment of meat available was phenomenal! If youve seen my other posts you know we do the whole deal so we were a little disappointed they were out of the flaming dessert but the flavor in the chocolate dessert was great! Oh i forgot to mention the amazing drinks!! Espresso martini and several different kinds of old fashions!

Atmosphere- the excitement of the new job was not lost on these guys walking around with skewers full of meat! They seemed to really enjoy their job and the excitement of someone choosing their skewer over anothers. It was quite comical at times.

Restrooms- clean!!

Would definitely recommend and would rate this experience at an ( A+)

Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp!

First let’s address the elephant in the room- location has some bad history and has housed several failed restaurants after the Twin Peak event. It’s time to forget the past, enjoy the present, and look forward to the future because this place is AMAZING!!

Busy day today and not officially open to the public until Monday!!

Wait- not bad at all but im sure it will be busy and possibly reservation only for quite awhile

Host- very polite!

Wait staff- EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE was GREAT!!

Food- was AMAZING! From the appetizer, to entree, and finally dessert everything was full of flavor, Cooked to perfection, unlike anything i’ve ever had. Probaby the coldest beer in Waco and tons of frozen drinks to choose from.

Atmosphere- full of life and cheerful!

Restrooms- clean!!

Uncle Dan’s Hewitt Dr.

Not busy.

Wait- 10 minutes

Food- the worst cuts of meat possible and half the weight as normal.

Staff- was rude. Apparently this Isnt the first time based on their google reviews. What’s crazy is one person was rudely responded to by the owner after writing review.

Normally i am all about supporting local but next time i will be have to pass on Uncle Dan’s but l would rate this experience at a (F)

Restaurant was not busy. We were seated right away.

Host- polite but uninterested.

Wait staff- spoke very low and mumbled. Forgot to bring us the appetizer and offered to bring it after the meal arrived. After waiting 15 minutes and speakingg to manager we finally got our check.

Management- uninterested in the fact there was multiple tables of unhappy people that had been waiting for food, check, drinks, or to order.

Food- meat was cooked appropriately. Rolls cold. Sides cold. Appetizer- well we don’t know. Dessert- wait staff never came back to order.

Atmosphere- everything appeared clean.

Restrooms- clean.

Would definitely NOT recommend and would rate this experience at a (D)

Schlotzsky’s Hewitt Dr.

Not busy.

Wait- 10 minutes

Food- was great once I got everything I ordered.

Staff-After driving all the way home I realized I was missing part of my order. The staff never apologized. Confirmed my order and handed me what was missing. I told them what an Inconvenience this was andd that orders should be checked. “OK” and still no apology. (Disappointing)

Would recommend checking your order before leaving ( I normally do) and would rate this experience at a (B)

Busy Saturday night for this restaurant.

Wait- 25 minutes not bad (small sitting area.)

Host- polite

Wait staff- polite could have done better keeping drinks refilled.

Food- was AMAZING! From the appetizer to dessert everything was full of flavor.

Atmosphere- everything appeared clean. The main dining room was loud. The patio and smaller dining room were a little more intimate.

Restrooms- clean but limited.

Would definitely recommend and would rate this experience at an ( A )
