Another weekend in the books for Team BeerBod BBQ at the BBQ for the Brave Cookoff in Elgin, Texas!
Not exactly the finish we were looking for, but that's competition BBQ. Some weekends you get the calls, and some weekends you get the lessons. Either way, we're blessed to be out here doing what we love.

We'll take the wins, learn from the misses, and keep pushing forward. Every cookoff is another opportunity to improve, and we're already looking ahead to the next one.
A huge THANK YOU to the crew at Heart Of Texas RV Pros, LLC for coming out Friday night to check over the rigs and make sure everyone was ready for the weekend. Your support of the BBQ community does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate everything you do to help keep us rolling down the road.

We would also like to thank Leonard Love, Kim Love, Amanda Beran, and the International Barbeque Cookers Association for putting on a well-organized, smoothly run competition. Events like this don't happen without countless hours of hard work behind the scenes, and it showed all weekend long. Thank you for everything you do for the competitors and the BBQ community.

Congratulations to all the teams that heard their names called this weekend. We'll regroup, reload, and be back at it soon.

This Memorial Day, Team BeerBod BBQ wants to take a moment to remember and honor the men and women who gave everything for this country. Freedom isn’t free, and today we remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy time with family, friends, freedom, and backyard BBQs.

Today the smokers are rolling, the ribs are smoking low and slow, and the flags are flying high. 🇺🇸

Team BeerBod landed out in West, Texas for the Cody Dragoo Memorial Barbecue Cookoff. This has always been one of our favorite competitions. It’s a fun, well-ran event that raises money for students and keeps the BBQ community together. Even after fighting through the Friday night storms, we managed to keep the pits rolling. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any walks in the meat categories this weekend, but it wasn’t a total washout for Team BeerBod. We finally managed to grab the last walk in beans with a 1st Place Jackpot Beans finish!

Now it’s back to the drawing board to work on some time management skills before the next cookoff. Every weekend is another chance to learn and get better.

Special thanks to Daniel Moody and the crew Heart Of Texas RV Pros, LLC for believing in us and helping keep Team BeerBod rolling down the road.

Another huge thanks to Mrs. BeerBod for always keeping me headed in the right direction, for her positive attitude, and for putting up with my mess in between turn-ins. Without her, there’d probably be mud and BBQ injections scattered all over the trailer.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife Angela Casey — better known around the cookoffs as Mrs. BeerBod / The Beer Assistant 🎉🔥

Today is all about celebrating YOU and everything you do for our family, our team, and this crazy BBQ life we live.

Most people only see the trophies, the food, and the fun… but they don’t see the long hours, the packing, organizing, helping, encouraging, and everything you do behind the scenes to keep Team BeerBod going.

And let’s be honest… being “The Beer Assistant” really means:
✔ Keeping me organized
✔ Finding everything I lose
✔ Listening to BBQ talk 24/7
✔ Surviving smoke, trailers, late nights, and my nonstop ideas
✔ And somehow still claiming me in public 😂

Behind every Mr. BeerBod is a Mrs. BeerBod wondering why there are 47 BBQ rubs, 19 extension cords, and absolutely no room left in the trailer 😎

Thank you for always standing beside me through the smoke, stress, miles, and memories. Thank you for helping keep this operation together and supporting the dream no matter how chaotic things get sometimes.

You are truly the backbone of Team BeerBod and I appreciate you more than words can say.

Hope your birthday is filled with lots of laughs, great BBQ, family, friends, and a completely stress-free day… or at least less stressful than a cookoff turn-in window 😂🔥

Team BeerBod BBQ rolled into the 6th Annual Roger’s Spring Fest and battled through a rough start with the rig, but as always the pros atHeart Of Texas RV Pros, LLC came through on site and got the A/C blowing quiet snowflakes… IYKYK ❄️🔥

Huge thanks to Charlie Shirley for promoting another great local cookoff and to Judy Kenney and the Outlaw Bar-B-Que Association for putting on a smooth-running contest from start to finish.

After the smoke cleared and the coals cooled down, Team BeerBod BBQ managed to fight our way to a 5th Overall finish!

BeerBod BBQ rolled into Granger Lake Fest 2026 this weekend after a few long weeks of the camper having repairs done in the shop. Huge shoutout and special thanks to Daniel Moody with Heart of Texas RV Pros for putting a brand new roof, fixing the air conditioner and several other issues. Thanks again for getting us back on the road. We truly appreciate the hard work and support.
While the camper was down, we took the opportunity to completely transform the back into a full kitchen area. New storage cabinets, tables and a sink (which the wife is very happy about). All of our supplies were reorganized to help make our cooks run smoother and faster. This cook off was definitely one of those “learning and regrouping” weekends. We tried a few new things that honestly didn’t quite work out the way we hoped, but that’s part of competition BBQ — timing, organization, adjustments, and continuing to improve every cook. We did manage to grab a Finals Table call, and after that… well… we pretty much flew the coop 😂
Big congratulations to Chuck and Vanessa with Rocking A Grillin for bringing home Grand Champion, and congrats to Rebel Way for Reserve Grand Champion!
So now…back to the drawing board, refining the processes and back to chasing smoke.
